BROTÉRIA CULTURAL CENTRE
teamed up with the Jesuits to produce the centre
(2017–2021)
My position as a strategist teaming up with the Brotéria Jesuits community was thinking on how to positioning a deep intelectual magazine as Brotéria in the urban contemporary culture. How can art be enhanced by Christian culture? How can Christian culture dialogue with urban contemporary cultures?
How to create a Christian Cultural Centre in the heart of Lisbon (Bairro Alto) that is embedded in the contemporary culture of the city? A centre that dialogues with it’s inahbitants and visitors, a centre to reflect about contemporary issuis attentive to the local and trhe international problems.
A Cultural Centre with:
Library ︎
Thew library has approximately 95,000 books and 65,000 magazines. The Brotéria library has grown over the past ninety years based on the areas of interest and knowledge of each Jesuit living and working in this community. It specializes primarily in the areas of history, literature, politics, philosophy, and theology.
Gallery ︎
The Brotéria gallery is a space that establishes a connection between the street and the home. It's a space integrated into urban dynamics, exploring the senses and the freedom necessary for artistic experimentation.

Book Shop ︎
Anyone who comes into my house passes by the Snob bookstore, an independent bookstore with its own editorial project and considerable experience in the second-hand and second-hand book market.
Coffee house/Restaurant ︎
Brotéria Café is a meeting and relaxation spot with the quietest patio in Bairro Alto. Perfect for lunch, a snack, a stay, an event and a return visit.
